John McCain: Still can't use "the Google"
Submitted by Brian on Mon, 07/21/2008 - 12:50pm.Apparently, John McCain and his campaign team still don't know how to use "the Google". Even if they failed to watch or read the news, "a google" could have shown them all the things wrong with their latest fundraising email:
The Obama Democrats are counting on their wealthy special interest groups, Big Labor Unions and unregulated “527” groups like MoveOn.org to fill their campaign coffers and try to bury our GOP get-out-the-vote efforts in an avalanche of special interest cash.
I guess being Republicans, little things like facts can't get in the way:
- MoveOn closed its 527 operation last month.
- The Obama campaign and the DNC do not accept money from PACs or federal lobbyists.
I have to say, I do like this claim, though:
These groups will push Democrat fundraising over a billion dollars -- an unprecedented amount which is fueling their massive 50-state voter registration drive.
Hmm. What do you say we make that part of his email true, and help fund the 50-State Register to Change strategy. I'd hate to disappoint John McCain, wouldn't you? Donate here:https://www.democrats.org/page/contribute

Submitted by Brian on Fri, 10/05/2007 - 1:57pm.This time, Dr. Dean is in Tennessee.
- As part of the Dean strategic plan, the Democratic National Committee is paying the salary of staff workers in many states — including Tennessee.
“It’s been a big help to us here in Tennessee, that’s for sure,” said state Democratic Chairman Gray Sasser.
More importantly,
- Tennessee Republicans receive no comparable financial support from the Republican National Committee, according to state GOP Chairman Robin Smith.

New Jersey Implements 21-County Strategy
Submitted by Brian on Fri, 10/05/2007 - 1:49pm.From Campaigns and Elections:
- Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean came to a Kenilworth hotel this morning to see his 50-State Strategy in practice. At the head table sat the event's hosts -- state Sen. John Adler, Assemblywoman Linda Stender and state Senate candidate Gina Genovese -- all three of whom are running for office against Republican incumbents, in Republican leaning districts.

50-State Success
Submitted by Brian on Mon, 09/24/2007 - 8:13pm.I finally got around to reading this full article from the August 13 issue of The Nation about the 50-State Strategy.
From The Nation, via Masson:
- The single oddest thing about the fifty-state strategy is surely the adjective often attached to it: "controversial."
